Dr. Handjani is currently the President of the Iranian Society of Dermatology as well as the President and a member of board of directors of Fars Society of Dermatology a member of the Iranian National Medical Council, and the International Society of Dermatology, Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Shiraz, the chief editor of the Iranian Journal of Dermatology, and Head of the Molecular Dermatology Research Center in the same institute.

He has also been Appointed As Clinical Monitor for the World Health Organization /TDR and IVR, Geneva, Switzerland, he has monitored leishmania vaccine trails in Iran and Sudan, PKDL immunochemotherapy trial in Sudan, polio vaccine trial in India, and trivalent meningitis trial in Ethiopia, OFLOTUB (TB drug trial ) in Kenya and a multicenter TB/HAART trial in Africa.
